Olive-mania with some finger swiping

My little brown eyed Miss loves olives. Wait. She adores, craves—if that is possible at one, and thrives on olives. So last night, while the mister left to take a test, we made dinner-- Fried okra and olives. A little unconventional? Yes, but oh so yummy. As a child I loved me some fried okra… and still do.  That is what parenting is all about: sharing joys and traditions while providing experience of growth and discovery. I am so in love with our little one, especially with her chubby cheeks full of plump black olives. There were a few times she began to gag, and I had to perform a quick swipe, but oh the joy on her face.

In the future, when she begins her own journey of parenthood, I hope she remembers these days. Days we spent eating dinner on the living room floor squishing fried okra and olives between our teeth.
**What are some of your childhood treasures?**
Note: I do feed my child other things beside just olives and okra. FYI, just so you don't think I am neglecting little miss nutritionally. Sometimes it is okay to eat just what you love.
